Gladiators progression

What spawned this idea was something on TMZ or the E! Channel about what this celebrity was wearing or whatever. I thin kit was Katie Holmes actually but whoever it was, she was wearing some Gladiator heels. I think gladiator heels are sexy but they're weird because they sort of have to go with a specific outfit because they either don't look right, like in this case where Katie Holmes was wearing them with some skinny jeans but had the gladiator heels and it just didn't work, or they look like a part of a costume and then it looks like you're dressing up for Halloween or something.

Anyway, I just liked the image of some gladiator heels so that's what I attempted here. Turns out feet and heels are two things that I don't really do that well so I looked up some images and started sketching out some stuff. I couldn't figure out the positioning of foot in the shoe. Heels are some crazy shit.

For two feet, I spent way too much time on trying to design something when I really just wanted to do something simple that I can mess around with colored markers in the end. If you look at the top right sketch, I started looking up patterns, started thinking of hinges for the straps and bands and other crap that I ended up not using, but that what sketching is about and it's only been fairly recently that I really understood the significance of sketching. Even just randomly sketching things helps out in the end.
